Softlanding is seeking a SharePoint Support specialist to guide clients through business enhancements, user-adoption, basic training and best practice use of Office 365 tools, specifically SharePoint. This role involves mostly phone and some in-person interaction across a wide range of our client base. Candidates interested in this opportunity should have several years of administrative, configuration and general support of modern SharePoint environments.

Job function over-view includes:

  • SharePoint Health Checks
  • Ability to analyze health check reports and identify potential problems
  • SharePoint Office integration issues
  • Troubleshoot issues with Office desktop applications when used in conjunction with SharePoint (e.g. documents in SharePoint not opening in Office, check in/out issues)
  • Tracking down missing files and/or list items
  • Ability to use SharePoint audit logs in order to identify cause of deleted items
  • Knowledge of SharePoint recycle bin and how to restore deleted items
  • Ability to track down misplaced items using SharePoint search
  • Troubleshooting SharePoint workflows
  • Ability to troubleshoot out of the box SharePoint approval workflows
  • Managing SharePoint permissions
  • Understand permission inheritance in SharePoint
  • Help customers to understand why someone may not have access to specific items
  • Set or remove permissions as directed by the customer
  • SharePoint patching
  • Understand the SharePoint patching process
  • Ability to validate all core SharePoint processes and services after patching has been completed
  • General troubleshooting
  • Understand how to use the SharePoint ULS logs to troubleshoot issues
